Software application to support mathematics education in primary schools
Helgert, Michal ; Štípek, Jiří (advisor) ; Leipert, Jiří (referee)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the creation of a software application targeting content for grades 1-3 of primary schools, used for practicing mathematics and sharing math exercises. Initially, the focus is on identifying the state of the mathematics curriculum for this age group, delineating differences in the curriculum between grades, and comparing the curricula of selected elementary schools. Next, the paper discusses gamification, its principles and its use in real school classrooms through educational software. It describes the software already available in Czech, also practicing mathematics, covering the same age. A key part is the actual mapping of the process of creating a software application, describing the technologies used, the structure of the databases and how they work. The thesis concludes with an installable version of the application on Android and Windows operating systems.
NAO robot as a tool for practicing math skills
PEVNÁ, Daniela
My bachelor thesis deals with the use of the robot Nao for practising mathematical skills in a group of pupils of the 1st grade of primary school. The robot gives mathematical operations to pupils using its voice output, and then the robot waits for the answers to his questions. He rewards their correct or incorrect responses with their appropriate reaction. Mathematical operations based on addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. This program is focused on practising not only one specific mathematical operation but also on all types of operations in a random sequence. The examples are designed so that the pupil is able to count them by heart in a short period of time. The voice output is adapted to be interesting for the pupil's target group or accompanied by a physical activity that will attract the child and make the exercise more pleasant. The robot is able to identify human faces in its surroundings and, based on that, give examples to specific people. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis describes the existing educational robots and robotic toys that are useful in other school subjects than ICT. The practical part deals with the creation of the program.
Estimates in mathematics at basic school.
HRANÍČEK, Antonín
This diploma thesis called Estimations in Mathematics at Elementary School is created as an auxiliary teaching material. It acquaints the readers with the concept of mathematical estimation and presents its basic divisions. It also provides graphic instructions how to make estimations and it contains plenty of problems which serve as a systematic practicing and training of the ability of estimating. In addition, the form of individual problems shows spheres in which estimating is convenient to develop. At the end of the work there are presented research-oriented problems with the need of estimation.

Using the Interactive Whiteboard in English Language Classes at Middle School Level
KOVÁŘOVÁ, Hana
This diploma thesis is focused on using the interactive whiteboard in English language classes at middle school level. The theoretical part is focused on describing the interactive whiteboard, development and description of particular language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) and language subskills (grammar, pronunciation). The practical part deals with a preparation of some English classes. From observation of the classes, from the interviews with teachers and the questionnaire among pupils I will make a conclusion for training which language skills and subskills it is good to use the interactive whiteboard.
Teaching vocabulary through the interactive whiteboard
BUTOROVÁ, Zuzana
The aim of this diploma thesis is to prepare and try to present and practise vocabulary in practice using a interactive whiteboard. Vocabulary topics are based on RVP (FEP) and designed for 6th grade of elementary school. A textbook Way to Win 6 is used as a source and basic material for the topics. This textbook comes precisely from RVP (FEP). I have prepared presentations and practices on the basis of professional literature which are methodically correct. These presentations and practices are connected with a meaning and a spoken and written form of each word. Pupils will be able to use this vocabulary actively after practising.
